The Phoenix JR.™ 123 (NSN: 5854-01-618-0930) beacon is an extremely rugged and low cost Infrared marker beacon that was principally designed as an individual Combat Identification marker employed to minimize fratricide (the inadvertent destruction of battle field assets by friendly forces.) It can also been used as a vehicle ID marker, drop zone indicator and perimeter marker. Designed with the same functionality as the Phoenix JR.™ it has been equipped with a spring clip for easy attachment to belts, straps, clothing and equipment. Designed to use a CR123 Battery, the JR123 is 50% smaller and lighter than the Phoenix JR. When not in use, the CR123 battery can be stored within the unit by installing the battery upside-down.

The Phoenix Jr.123 MPN: 902124IR is an extremely rugged and low-cost marker beacon. It is used in conjunction with Night Vision goggles (NVG) and other Night Vision devices (NVD), at night, as a covert position marker. The Phoenix Jr. was originally designed as a combat identification marker to minimize fratricide (the inadvertent killing of friendly forces, by friendly forces), and has been widely fielded by American and coalition forces for combat identification.
The beacon has many uses in combat and other covert
operations for marking personnel, vehicles, safe pathways, or locations. It
incorporates a flash rate that was specified to prevent confusion with small
arms-fire. Use the Phoenix Jr. to identify friendly force positions,
demarcation lines or perimeters.

Phoenix™ Jr. 123 Flex Mount can be flexed to fit a variety of surfaces.
