Seitz
Scientific Industries Inc. is the original manufacturer of the Fingerlight.
Only a Seitz "Lite" is authorized by the U.S. Army for use in Army
aircraft because only our Fingerlights meet all 17 specifications outlined in
the original R&D contract (Contract No. DAAK60-90-C-0042).
*NVIS White is your best choice, followed by soft white, for a light that will protect your central night vision and provide a full spectrum of light. Green and Blue also protects your central night vision, but blues and greens disappear within this color of light - something for a pilot to consider prior to use. Red will protect your peripheral night vision, but not central vision as efficiently as the soft white, blue and green. Red lettering, road markers or images on charts will also not be visible with red light, another consideration for the pilot to consider when making a color choice.
MIL-STD-3009 was developed by the Department of Defense in February 2001 and superseded MIL-L-85762A. It specifies that NVIS White for crew cockpit and utility lighting. NVIS Green A is grand fathered into the cockpit for certain applications, but not for new applications.

Same light as the SSI-FL-8 except this light does not have an NVIS WHITE Filter.
May be used with Generation III NVG’s, but will reduce the acuity of the NVG (cuts the gain; think of it as squinting to be able to see in bright light).
We recommend the SSI-FL-8 for use with NVG’s.
The SSI-FL14 has a bright white light.

For use as a finger mounted LASER pointer. When using Gen III NVG's the pointer can be seen for a mile or more depending on ambient conditions.

SSI-ML-DIM Fingerlight/Mike Lite Dimmer
Works
with Fingerlights if used with the Fingerlight AA Battery Adapter (SSI-FLAA).
Just snap in line between battery pack and Fingerlight. Allows user to increase
or decrease light output of any Fingerlight or Mike Lite. Optimizes available
battery life by allowing user to decrease the output with fresh batteries. As
battery life decreases, user slowly increases output to maintain favorite light
setting. Also convenient to adjust the light output to compensate for various
ambient light conditions as well as different levels of dark adaptation.
Works with ALL Mike Lites. Just snap in line between battery pack and
Mike Lite. Allows user to increase or decrease light output of any Mike

above 100F (38C) or below 32F (0C). Battery will last for 15 hours of normal
operations at 72F (22C).
Other Aviation Products of Interest
Cap Lights are similar to Mike Lites. They are a good source to mount a light onto a "tankers" microphone boom (M138). However, these are great for hunting and fishing as well. Ever tried to tie a fishing lure at night and hold a flashlight? How about walking into or out of that favorite hunting spot in the dark. Very handy having light to see and be seen and have your hands free! Great for mechanics too.

WARRANTY
Seitz Scientific Industries Inc.
warrants your product to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of 90 days from the original date of purchase.
If you discover a defect in a product covered by this warranty, we will
repair at our option using new or refurbished components, or if repair
is not possible, replace the item.
EXCLUSIONS
This warranty covers defects in
manufacturing discovered while using the product as recommended by the
manufacturer. The warranty does not cover loss or theft, nor does
coverage extend to damage caused by misuse, abuse, unauthorized
modification, use of an improper power source, improper storage
conditions, or natural disasters.
LIMITS OF LIABILITY
Should the product(s) fail,
your sole recourse shall be repair or replacement, as described in the
preceding paragraphs. We will not be held liable to you or any other
party for any damages that result from the failure of this product.
Damages excluded include, but are not limited to, the following: lost
profits, lost savings, lost data, damage to other equipment, and
incidental or consequential damages arising from the use, or inability
to use this product. In no event will Seitz Scientific Industries Inc.
be liable for more than the amount of your purchase price, not to exceed
the current list price of the product, and excluding tax, shipping and
handling charges.
